  1. Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies

Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies is one of the top aquariums in the country, and when you visit you’ll know why. Not only is it home to thousands of your favorite aquatic animals, but you can try a number of unique experiences that lets you interact one-on-one with them! Head to Touch-A-Ray Bay and get up close and personal with the stingrays, or waddle with penguins in the Penguin Encounter. Kids love having the chance to feed a green sea turtle and even touch a jellyfish!

  1. The Island in Pigeon Forge

The Island in Pigeon Forge is the best place to go for some affordable family fun. From shops, to restaurants, to rides, you can enjoy it all at The Island. One of the most popular things to do for families is ride the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel. This 200-foot-tall observation wheel lets you see panoramic views of Pigeon Forge and the Smoky Mountains. The all-glass gondolas seat up to 8 guests, so the whole family can ride together! Other popular activities include dining at Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen, watching the Island Show Fountains, and riding kid-friendly coasters.

  1. Dollywood/Dollywood’s Splash Country

When you visit the Smoky Mountains during the warmer months, plan a visit to both Dollywood and Dollywood’s Splash Country! Dollywood is open from mid March through early January each year and has been a family favorite for years. You can enjoy award-winning dining, world-class rides, and amazing entertainment! During the summer, cool off on water rides at Dollywood’s Splash Country. The water park offers plenty of opportunities for both the kids and parents to splash around.

  1. Ober Gatlinburg

Ober Gatlinburg is known for its snow fun during the winter,  but it is a popular attraction for families all year long! You can visit your favorite Smoky Mountain animals in the Wildlife Encounter, ride the Ski Mountain Coaster, or go ice skating. There are skiing, snowboarding, and tubing in the winter, and water slides in the summer! You can do it all at Ober Gatlinburg.
